Reach’s Academic Consortium

The Reach Alliance hosted the 2022 Reach Symposium on April 21 and 22 as a hybrid event with hundreds of attendees from across the academy, industry, and civil society. The two-day event centered around resilience and navigating global shocks to advance the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Resilience in some instances has been about staying the course; in other cases, resilience has been about adapting and discovering new and innovative pathways to advance our shared agenda for sustainable development.

This work can only be done by strengthening international partnerships to achieve global reach, while working alongside one another to generate actionable insights on what is working and why. Last year, the Reach Alliance expanded globally to three major universities – Tecnológico de Monterrey, the University College London and the University of Oxford. This year we launched seven new case studies – including two case studies produced by our global partners at Tecnológico de Monterrey and the University of Oxford.

“One of TEC’s priorities has always been the impact on society. An impact made both by students and teachers. Also, to give students the opportunity of international exposure and I think this alliance allows us to do both,” says Iza María Sánchez Siller, Professor, School of Government and Public Transformation, Tecnológico de Monterrey.

The relationships cultivated through this global partnership have produced cross-cutting insights that will continue as we prepare to welcome new partners from several countries around the world this year. Thank you again to those who were able to attend this year’s Symposium, and we hope you continue to join us in these important conversations about how to be resilient in our efforts to reach the hardest to reach.
