Walt is a retired Vice Chairman of Mastercard Worldwide, where he spearheaded initiatives to create meaningful public-private partnerships around the world. Previously, Walt was the President of International Markets at Mastercard, and was responsible for the company’s business in over 200 countries. Much of his work has centered on financial inclusion: bringing basic financial products to the 2 billion people without access today. In 2015, Walt was honored to serve on the UN’s High-Level Panel on Humanitarian Financing. Based on what he learned, he dedicated much of his time to how the private sector can best participate in addressing key issues facing the world and building various social enterprise models for Mastercard. Walt has a B.A. and B. Ed. from Queens University and an MBA from York University.
