Dr. Hridaya Raj Devkota is a public health researcher and policy specialist focused on advancing equity in maternal and reproductive health, disability inclusion, and social justice in low- and middle-income settings. He completed his PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health at University College London (UCL) and undertook postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley as a Global Health Equity Scholars Fellow. His work critically examines how health systems, social structures, and intersectional inequalities—including caste, gender, and disability—shape access to care, particularly in Nepal and South Asia.
Dr. Devkota has led numerous national and international research and evaluation projects in collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, and academic institutions, serving as Principal Investigator and Team Leader on studies related to respectful maternity care, disability-inclusive services, mental health, and health equity reform. He has published widely in leading peer-reviewed journals and brings extensive expertise in mixed-methods research, implementation science, policy analysis, and multidisciplinary team leadership.
