Hajarah Nakitende

Research Fellow, Department of Community Health and Behavioral Sciences, School of Public Health, Makerere University

Hajarah Nakitende is a research fellow in the Department of Community Health and Behavioral Sciences at the School of Public Health, Makerere University, Uganda. She holds a bachelor of science degree in human nutrition and a master’s in public health nutrition from Makerere University. As a published early career researcher she has done work on nutrition, food security, climate change, CVDs, and health systems in displaced populations. Hajarah is a member of the Climate Change Research Program (CARP) funded by USAID, and the Disaster, Migration and Refugee Center of excellence at Makerere University School of Public Health. Her research interests traverse from nutrition- related issues of public health concern, food security, climate change, disasters, health systems, and refugee health and livelihoods.
