Steve Fisher has worked for NGOs and community organisations for almost his whole career. He has worked on social, health and economic development projects in numerous locations, especially in remote regions of Australia and in Latin America. In South Asia, he has worked with organisations in Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Steve is currently the Director of Community Works, a consulting company based in Australia, and former Director of Kindred, which is an NGO registered in Colombia and Australia. He is also the Australia Director of Spring Impact, an international NGO that focuses on the replication and scaling of social programs. Research has been a central part of Steve’s professional work for over three decades. In 2016, Steve was appointed an Honorary Fellow in Development Studies at the University of Melbourne, where he spends part of every year teaching development practice for Master’s students.
