This project will implement the roadmap proposal designed to scale Rahat—a blockchain-powered humanitarian aid platform—into new geographies vulnerable to climate-related crises. The implementation will focus on developing a framework to help Ruman identify scaling opportunities. In particular, the project will a) understand the core pillars of Rahat’s success in Nepal, b) identify the “efficiency core” (the engine that is central to the current success), c) determine which elements of Rahat can be adapted, and d) determine a series of contextual factors that must be available in the new domain into which Rahat is to be scaled. Scaling can occur either across geography (e.g., to different countries) or across different types of climate-related crises (e.g., river flooding, rising ocean levels, tsunamis). The framework will be illustrated by developing a case for expanding into the Philippines.
