Founded in or around 1096, the University of Oxford is the English-speaking world’s oldest university, and continues to be among its best. Oxford is a world-leading centre of learning, teaching and research. Made of 39 distinct colleges,  Oxford is attended by 24,000 students, 45% of whom are from outside the U.K. A pivotal part of the vibrant city of Oxford, the university also operates the world’s oldest university museum, the largest university press in the worldand the largest academic library system in the country.
