Catherine Dumé

Program and Communications Assistant

As the Program and Communications Assistant, Catherine supports Reach Alliance’s online, social, and digital presence, organizing events and project development. For the past five years, Catherine has advocated for better accessibility for persons with disabilities. She has worked with disability organizations, universities, colleges, architects, political actors, and governmental ministries on various projects dedicated to improving accessibility in higher education and the physical environment. She represented the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association at Honorable Kamal Khera’s Round Table for the new federal Canadian Disability Benefit. She was also the Staff Accessibility Feature Correspondent for the Varsity, the Student Co-Chair for Accessibility Services, and the founder and former president of the University of Toronto Accessibility Awareness Club.  Catherine is a recent graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a double Minor in History and Writing and Rhetoric and plans on pursuing a graduate degree in Political Science, researching disability citizenship and participation.
