As the Administrative Assistant for the Reach Alliance, Vicki supports the leadership team and Reach’s key stakeholders to successfully manage core Reach activities related to strategy, communications and programming. She brings an extensive skillset from 15 years’ experience at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa. Her higher education career began in the University Secretariat as secretary to the Senate and several Senate committees. Vicki was then appointed as the Administrative and Operations Manager at UCT’s Centre for Higher Education Development which focuses primarily on teaching and learning and academic support. Vicki is passionate about higher education and the impact it has on people’s lives, particularly in South Africa which has continuing deep-rooted historical inequalities. Vicki holds a Bachelor of Journalism and Media Studies degree from Rhodes University (South Africa), and a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Psychology from the University of the Western Cape. She is currently doing her Master of Philosophy in Digital Curation; her research interest is Research Data Management.
